Floating above the lively streets of Saitama district, Naraka High School is perched on a floating island, shrouded in clouds. Being a graduate of this esteemed academy can elevate one's societal rank, and merely catching a glimpse of the school after applying secures acceptance. This opportunity is precisely what Momiji Rokudou has been waiting for, his chance to start afresh and redefine himself. Upon arrival, students are prompted to inscribe a single word of their choice, which they will rely on in times to come. Momiji chooses the kanji for "change" and etches it onto his right arm, unaware of the horrors lurking in the shadows. What was meant to be his rebirth becomes a never-ending nightmare as the campus swarms with violent monsters, killing anyone who stands in their way. Momiji and his peers must fight for survival if they are to emerge from this gruesome school alive - for high school has never been more challenging.
